CHAMPS!!!! smh @ People in LA

First off before I touch on the 15th title the Great Lakers won tonight. I'm gonna say that I think it's so stupid how people think that Rioting, Tagging on buses, light up bomb fires, and trying to intimidate other people in the streets of LA is showing your LAKER pride??? It's just showing your stupidity, and gonna end up messing up the Parade on Wed. SMH people are stupid and the worste thing about it there Hispanic. Gladly not from my neck of the woods. There the dudes down South of San Diego. Other than stupidity LA wins in an all Around effort to win there 15th Title, 4 of the last 10 champions were the lakers. And the west has like 8 of the last 11. Still think the east is better. I was so happy watching my team win it. Love that my Spaniard home boi Gasol won his first ring with the Lakers. And How Ariza showed the Magic what there missing out on. KOBE!!! your the man. Great effort. GO LAKERS!!!!!!!! GREAT SEASON, now go re sign those players front office. Some of my fav. Pictures from tonight's game.

WE ARE # 1. . .

Magic. Kareem. The Logo. Kobe. Shaq. When it comes to superstars, the Lakers are so far out in front of everybody else it's not even funny -- their all-time starting five would crush any other team's; in fact, it might be better than that of the rest of the league's put together. So star-studded is their legacy that I left Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and George Mikan off my five-man team that opened this paragraph, also neglecting the likes of James Worthy, Bob McAdoo and Gail Goodrich.

And those big names won, too. Although the Celtics have more championships, the Lakers have more of everything else -- wins, playoff wins, playoff series wins and conference titles. About the only thing that hurts L.A. in the all-time rankings is the penalty for relocating from Minnesota to Los Angeles in the 1950s.

The story begins with the Mikan years up north, where he led Minneapolis to five championships in six seasons in the formative years of the NBA. As the league's first dominant big man, he established something of a tradition.

FRANCHISE HISTORY

* Los Angeles Lakers (1960-Present)
* Minneapolis Lakers (1948-60)

Since then, the Lakers have almost always had at least one monstrous big man -- Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Pau Gasol -- and one electrifying perimeter star to go with him (Magic, Jerry West, Baylor, Kobe).

About the only thing the Lakers haven't been able to do is best the Celtics head-to-head. In 11 meetings against Boston in the Finals, L.A. has prevailed just twice -- both coming with Magic and Kareem's teams under Pat Riley in the 1980s. In that regard, Baylor's Minneapolis team got the ball rolling in 1958-59 in the team's last season before heading west, and in the '60s, Chamberlain and West were foiled by the Celtics five times.

Ultimately, those Lakers broke through with a 69-13 season in 1971-72 that featured a 33-game winning streak -- still a record for North American pro team sports -- to win the team's first title in L.A.

After a brief lull in the late '70s, they would get five more rings when Magic arrived to join forces with Kareem. Although there was one more painful loss to Boston interposed -- a seven-game defeat in 1984 -- L.A. avenged it by becoming the first team in nearly two decades to repeat as champs, winning in 1987 and 1988. A hamstring injury to Magic Johnson in the Finals the next year derailed the Lakers' quest for a three-peat, but they would get one a decade and a half later after Phil Jackson came to Tinseltown to guide Shaq and Kobe.

That team provided plenty of last-second excitement -- most notably the alley-oop from Kobe to Shaq that cemented a Game 7 conference finals comeback win over Portland in 2000 -- and produced one of the most dominant playoff runs in history with a 15-1 romp through the field in 2001.

Amazingly, the franchise has missed the playoffs only five times in its 61 years -- for some perspective, the Bobcats have needed just five years to match L.A.'s total. The Lakers are now playing in their sixth Finals in the past decade, and should they win, they'll be only two titles behind the hated Celtics.

talk about a SQUAD huh...that's why so many people hate. lol It's awesome being a Laker fan. Go get that W tonight.

I know you haven't been here to many time to know how to act. but the all "philosophical" PHIL can teach you... FAG.

Ferdinand Lewis 'Lew' Alcindor. . . SKY Hook for one please

No clue why I posted this, its late Not very tired just can't sleep. went on youtube searched penny hardaway, then kemp, then some kobe stuff(how people hate on those comments), then on the related videos there was a video on kereem and I had to click it, it was horrible quality then I found these vids. A great look @ a Legendary basketball player. Shows how you can be a superstar with class. A lot of players are missing that in today's game, and more than half aren't even superstars. Just a dude with "swagg". I'd pick class over "swagg" any day, if that classy player had a mean sky hook. Wish I was alive to watch Kereem play as a buck & a laker. Born in 89 so I didn't see much of kereem or magic, shit I didn't even see Jordan or penny or any of those great players. I missed out on a lot, I got the 2000's nba which is dope but I'm an old school KID at heart. The 90's would be a great time for me to be a teen.
we'll enjoy the vids. ima try to knock out.. PEACE!!

Kob vs Melo . . . Game 2

Garrett W. Ellwood/NBAE/Getty Images

wow watching Kobe and Melo Go @ each other is truly a treat for a fan of sports. Game 2 was another great game just the Lake show couldn't pull it out =[. Credit to the Nuggets. After I let my body temperature chill after we lost. I really got a chance to look back and actually enjoy the game, with out all the nail biting. I'm looking forward to watching game 3 and the other games to come. I just hope the Lakers are on top @ the end of the series. But this MELO vs. KOBE match up is pretty fun to watch.

there's a great article on ESPN about melo and Kob, pretty legit. Never though I'd say that cuz most of the time I can't stand there stupid writers except J.A. Adande

1-1. . .

The game was physical from the start. A lot of high intensity plays. ejections, flagrant fouls, Technical fouls, etc. This game was great, and emotional one. And I wasn't even playing. Touch hard fought Playoff basketball. Here's my beef. Houston prides themselves with playing hard D. There a good Defensive team. But come on, it seems to me that there just complaining that were being physical right back(I LOVE IT). Artest bitching about kobe slapping his hand, that elbow to the neck should of been a foul. He was just getting inside position. they were both fighting for position. I don't think he should of been ejected, but they had to take control of the game. Kobe doesn't get calls either, and he's KOBE. The only difference is that KOBE doesn't act like a fool and aggressively walk up to someone and talk in there face. He didn't do it on purpose. The funny thing is they did the same thing but the lakers weren't bitching about the calls. that right there is a bitch move. It's the playoffs and that's how its played. touch and with a sense of urgency because whats at stake. I truly think they got mad that we didn't just shut up and let them punk us. FISH Loved the foul. Probably gonna get a suspension. So that's gonna happen. Playing hard is whats the playoffs are about, it makes it exciting. LA got the W, its gonna be a battle. Good luck lakers. And Houston were not gonna stand there and let you guys Push us around. Push someone enough times they eventually Bite back. GO LAKERS
loved the enthusiasm by JACK...

IF we learn how to keep the lead.. watch out we will win by 20+ every game.... Don't hate lol so far so good. Damn I guess the best PG in the league couldn't do anything about that 58 point loss. I'll roll with Williams every day. He plays better Defense. and hes like 6'3 6'2. anyways looking forward on seeing the rest of that Chi-town vs. douche town. lets go Bulls

Can't we all get along...?

Two great players on the hardwood at the same time, both in two different stages of there carriers. One in his Prime and ready to become even more of a Legend. The other a young player with so much potential to become one of the greats. But for some reason People always find a way to hate one of them. We should all enjoy watching them play. Two players with the talent like Kobe Bryant and Lebron James don't come around at the same time, the last time was with magic and Bird. Kobe and Lebron are a great thing for the NBA they should embrace it. Instead of trying to push the other one under the rug, and keep claiming he's done. Embrace it as the new version of Bird and Magic. I really don't think the Sports writers back then tried to pick who's better and make it seem like the other is a scrub. I was talking with my cousin about this. And I was telling him for a while during there winning streak during the regular season, when the sports writers love fest for Lebron was kicking off. I really couldn't stand it. as you can see on this POST I did. It wasn't anything serious just upset at the time because of stupid articles lol. But we were saying that There to good to hate any of them. Lebron is a Freak, and is one of my favorite players to watch. Basketball fans every were are lucky, we get to see Kobe/ Lebron/ Wade/ D-Howard/ Chris Paul/ and who ever else you guys wanna add. these are my favorite and are probably gonna be in hall of fame. So we should just all enjoy them balling instead of hating on Someone because they don't invite you to a party or whatever. Get over it, your a sports writer. no one reads your shit, people just watch ESPN. ESPN is great because when you start hearing bull shit you just change the channel. lol
LETS go LEBRON keep kicking ass
KOBE your the man...
GO LAKERS
